Many students contact us who need work placement. We currently support masters students in social work and psychology and AOD and Mental health students. We recognise the benefits that diversity and inclusion bring, and encourage people from all backgrounds, abilities and identities to apply to our placements. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and CALD and LGBTIQA+ community members are encouraged to apply.

While we endeavour to support students where possible, places are very limited. Please keep in mind that we are not able to offer internal clinical supervision at this time. If your placement requires it, you’ll need to arrange supervision through your university or an external provider. Police checks and working with children checks are required for most placements.

Student Work Placement

We do not have the resources to provide Clinical Supervision. Students will need to have their own Clinical Supervision support in place before a placement can be offered. A current police check and, in some cases, a working with children check are required before commencement. A licence is required for ID purposes.

Fellowship Volunteer Drivers

Drivers for Therapeutic Community Fellowship meetings must be members of the Fellowship. Past residents of the Buttery are particularly welcome. All drivers must have a minimum of 12 months in continuous recovery.
