Safe Haven North Coast Evaluation 2025

The Healthy North Coast (HNC) and Buttery’s SHNC initiative, launched in July 2022 across four Northern Rivers locations—Lismore, Mullumbimby, Woodburn, and Murwillumbah—were developed in response to the region’s devastating floods and ongoing climate-related disasters. The rapid response from the three organisations cannot be underestimated in a time of an unprecedented natural disaster in NSW. Funded by the NSW Ministry of Health, commissioned by HNC, this evaluation demonstrates the HNC and The Buttery SHNC model provides trauma-informed, culturally safe, and non-clinical support for individuals experiencing emotional distress or suicidal crisis.
