Join The Buttery Board

The Buttery is pleased to announce it has voluntary opportunities for talented people to join our Board. We currently have a diverse range of skills among our current Board members but would like to increase our expertise in the area of lived experience of mental health conditions and alcohol and other drug conditions.

Position requirements
Candidates should have experience of participating in a drug and alcohol and/or mental health rehabilitation or support service. Prior Board experience is preferred but consideration will be given to candidates with some of the desirable skills listed below.

Desirable Skill and Knowledge Areas:

  • knowledge of recovery and trauma informed practice

  • understanding of the non- government sector with networking and advocacy experience

  • understanding of corporate governance principles

  • computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft suite and video conferencing tools

  • the ability to communicate effectively and commitment to collaborative leadership

  • alignment with the vision and values of The Buttery

  • A police check, NDIS screening check and working with children check are required.

Meeting requirements:
Board meetings take place every second month on the last Monday of the month between 6pm-9pm. Board Members are supported to attend two face-to-face meetings each year held at the Binna Burra Offices near Bangalow. Additionally, there may be face-to-face strategy, and/or planning sessions. As a minimum, board members should expect to participate in approximately 6 to 8 Board meetings per annum and review all board papers.

Remuneration:
Board members operate in a voluntary capacity. Relevant expenses will be paid.
