National Drug & Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) The premier research institution on drugs and alcohol in Australia, recognised internationally. NDARC collaborates with medicine, psychology, social science and other schools of the University of NSW, as well as with a range of other institutions and individuals in Australia and overseas.

Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) A non-government, not-for-profit organisation aiming to help prevent alcohol and other drug problems, and reduce alcohol and other drug harms.

NSW Users & AIDS Association (NUAA) Funded primarily by the NSW Health Department, NUAA provides education, practical support, information and advocacy to users of illicit drugs, their friends, and allies. Site includes pdf copies of the quarterly magazine User’s News.

Erowid An online library of information about psychoactive plants and chemicals and related topics. The info on the site is a compilation of the experiences of many individuals including users, parents, health professionals, and researchers.
The Drug Reform Co-ordination Network (DRCNet) is an international organization working for an end to drug prohibition worldwide and for interim policy reform in US drug laws and criminal justice system. This site has links to a variety of research.
International Harm Reduction Association Promoting evidence-based harm reduction policies on a global basis.
International Narcotics Control Board. The independent and quasi-judicial control organ monitoring the implementation of the United Nations drug control conventions.

Living Life to the Full An interactive program developed by a Scottish psychiatrist and based on cognitive behavioural therapy. Aimed to help people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety.
Moodgym An interactive site, giving cognitive behavioural coping strategies. Although aimed at young people with depression, it can be beneficial for most people.
beyondblue A national, independent, not-for-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance misuse disorders in Australia. A very good info site, including fact sheets on anti-depressants and other depression- related topics.
Black Dog Institute An educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in mood disorders. It is attached to the Prince of Wales Hospital and affiliated with the University of NSW. Good site for info about depression and bipolar disorder.
